Room tour!

Hey y’all!

Welcome! I recently rearranged the furniture in my bedroom and I really like it. I wanted to show y’all what my room looks like and hopefully give y’all some inspiration if you are looking for some!

My bed

Welcome to my room. When you first walk in the door you see my bed.

My dresser

When you walk in the door, to your left is my dresser. (Yes, that’s a runway light.)

Overall look of the room
Shelf

Across from my bed is this shelf. Each of the items on my shelf have a special meaning and mean a lot to me. From flowers I carried in my cousins wedding, an ornament I got on a special trip, an airplane chart of where I’m from, a painting I did on a retreat, to a mug a friend gave me.

Different view of my room

Across the room is my desk and a chair.

My desk

I keep an oil defuser, a jewelry box, and a picture on my desk.

My favorite chair

In the corner of my room is my favorite chair. This used to be my great grandmas chair and when I was little I would crawl up in it and take a nap.

I figure I would show a better look at my night stands.

this one is on the left side of the bed. Also, fun fact, my aunt and uncle gave me the clock and the Bible on this night stand.

Night stand on the left
Night stand to the right of bed

I’m so happy I could give y’all a tour of my room! Hope y’all enjoyed.

Story time!

Hey y’all welcome!

This April my family and I were going to take a trip/ vacation to Florida. Unfortunately our plans got changed due to circumstances being the way they are in the world right now. I decided to relive our trip from Florida a few years ago and let y’all live my story with pictures. Maybe this will feel like a virtual vacation, since I know a lot of you had planned AMAZING trips to great destinations for spring break.

This was in the airport right as we came up the steps.
This was the pool at our hotel.
We went to LEGO land!
My Dad was only able to ride one ride, then he sat out . Poor Dad (haha)
They even show a water show at LEGO land.

Then the next day we went to Disney springs.

Buzz and Woody made from LEGOs.
This was at a shirt store.
We were able to ride these boats around. These Neat boats took you to different resorts around the property that you were staying at.

Disney springs is such a fun and cool place to go! Lots of shops ( they had this really neat Disney themed lego store my brother and I were able to shop at.) and lots of fun places for Children! (I don’t think adults will be disappointed either.)

Largest McDonald’s in the USA!

One night while out driving around we happened upon this really neat McDonald’s!
Turns out, it’s the biggest McDonald’s in the USA!
The coolest neons.
There is in arcade inside and a really big play area.

On the dining room tables are tablets (kinda like iPads) with free games to play while you wait for your food.
Over view.
Fish tank in the middle of the main floor.
The McDonald’s does not serve just your typical McDonald’s food. They serve spaghetti, pizza, and a few other things.
They have an ice cream desert bar.
I know, I’m weird.
But… these bathrooms were sooo cool!
The bathroom mirror.

We were only able to stay a few days in Florida, but I had a great time and look forward to going back sometime.

On our last day we went to the airport, we missed our first flight, but we were able to get on the next flight.
It was a great trip and I look forward to going back to Florida sometime again!

What to do.

Hey y’all,

Welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad you are here!

Lately we all have been in our houses looking for things to do. Some of us enjoying our time with family in our houses, while others are about to go out of there minds.

Here are some thing’s I have been doing to help this time be more fun and maybe learn something new along the way.

1. Read a good book.

Find a good book title that sounds interesting and dig in! It doesn’t have to be a fictional book it can be non fiction as well. I personally have been reading Rich dad Poor dad, which I highly recommend. I also have read a page or two in a book called listen the wind.

These are pretty visual books

2. Pamper yourself.

Take this time to give yourself a full makeover! Exfoliate your skin, try a new hairstyle https://annabananaoutlet.food.blog/2020/03/09/fancy-updo/, pick out in outfit https://annabananaoutlet.food.blog/2020/03/12/spring-look-book/, try a new makeup look.

Spring look book

3. Try a new recipe.

If you know how to cook try a new recipe https://annabananaoutlet.food.blog/2020/02/01/hummus-recipe/. If you don’t know how to cook now would be a good time to learn!

Hummus recipe

4. Watch a movie.

It can be a movie you have never seen before, or a movie you haven’t watched in a while. Make some popcorn (maybe even a pillow/ blanket fort.) and enjoy!

I like old movies

5. Remodel.

Move furniture around in your house or bedroom, Make some DIY’s and hang some different wall decor.

Shelf in my bedroom

6. Get outside.

The last few days here where I live have been such lovely days.

My family and I have gone on walks through our neighborhood, My toddler brother and I have played with bubbles and side walk chalk, (you are never to old to play with bubles and sidewalk chalk, just saying.) and My big little brother and I have been canoeing and fishing.

7. Craft.

Bonus thing to do. Color a picture do some arts and crafts.

I hope these were helpful! Let’s not forget we’re all in this together.

Check out my last blog post, I was sooooo happy with it! It’s a spring look book. https://annabananaoutlet.food.blog/2020/03/12/spring-look-book/

Fancy updo!

Fancy updo!

Hey y’all!

I have always liked fancy and pretty hairstyles. I was always able to do fancy and pretty hairstyles on others, but it seemed so difficult to do them on myself.

So one day I decided I was gonna come up with a quick, pretty, and easy hairstyle.

This hairstyle is perfect for a “I’m gonna be late for work or school but, I want to be put together.” it’s also perfect for a more formal event! Another great thing about this hairstyle is you can make it as neat or as messy as you would like.

I made a video of this hairstyle just because it’s easier sometimes to watch a video then try to envision the hairstyle and process through words.

What you will need.

1. Hairbrush

2.Two hair ties

3.Bobby pins

4.Hairspray

Video on the fancy hairstyle.

Step one, you will need to brush through you hair and part it so you can make two pig tale braids.

Next Step is to fold and tuck! (I recommend watching the video for this part.)

Bobby pin in place.

Spray with hairspray.

Done! I hope you really enjoyed this blog post!

Weekend retreat.

This past weekend my church went on a weekend retreat.

We left Friday and drove for about 4 hours to where our retreat was going to be held.

The bus ride to our retreat was very nice, full of fun and laughter.

We arrived around 5:30 in time to unload our luggage into our rooms and then head to dinner.

After dinner, we had a session time in a big auditorium. We sang songs, read our bibles, and played games.

After our session was over we headed back to our rooms to get ready for bed. Lights were supposed to be out by 11:30.

The next morning breakfast was at 7:45. We woke up around 6:30 to get ready. Just before we left we opened the door to realize it had snowed! It was beautiful.

Fortunately I had packed clothes appropriate for snow.

When we were heading to breakfast people kept slipping and sliding in the snow/ ice.

Our meals are done in a buffet type style.

For breakfast I got pineapple, bacon, eggs, biscuits, potatoes, water, and my 5 year old self had to get chocolate milk.

From breakfast we went to another session in our big auditorium. We sang songs, read our bibles and played games.

Then it was lunch time, we headed to the cafeteria for lunch.

After our session we had about four hours of free time. At first we walked around the campus, then two of my friends/ roommates and I decided to go to an art session.

We stayed at art for a while, until we met some of our friends at a coffee shop.

We then headed back to our room to get ready for our evening session. We have teams that compete against each other in games which get us points to win a prize at the end of the weekend. I was on the blue team, I wore blue hair ribbons in my hair, blue eyeshadow on my eyes, and blue gems on my face.

Unfortunately, my team didn’t win.

After we got ready we headed to dinner! Then to our session.

(Unfortunately this was the only meal I didn’t get a picture of.)

After our session, we had a silent dance party. Everyone wore headphones that are, I guess connected to blue tooth? So, we all are listening to the same song, but, through headphones. It was cool, and very unique, something I have never done before. At 11:30 the silent dance party ended and we headed back to our rooms to get ready for bed.

Sunday, I woke up around 5:30. I got ready for the day, and then packed my things.

We had to be at breakfast at 7:30.

Once we ate breakfast we headed back to our room for a bit before heading to our last session. Our last session was very good, I learned a lot!

Then it was time to go to our rooms, grab our luggage, and get on the bus guss.

We got about 20 or so minutes down the road when we stoped for lunch. We ate pizza which tasted delicious!

After lunch I took a nap and read a book till we got back into town.

I’m very grateful for this weekend!

It was a lot of fun, learning, and meeting new people.

Ever wondered what a heated vest would be like? Click the link below👇🏻 to find out.

https://annabananaoutlet.food.blog/2020/02/24/a-heated-vest/

A Heated vest?!

For my birthday I received some really nice gifts. Thank you!

One of the gifts I received I was a little confused about. I thought it was packing cubes.

Doesn’t this look like a packing cube?

I opened it.

When I realized what it was I almost laughed, (ok, actually, I think I did laugh.)

Heated vest?

I realized it was a heated vest. I had remembered talking about a heated vest and kinda making fun of it back last summer. So… I thought it was a joke! Then I realized, it wasn’t. So, I asked for some help (and hoped I wouldn’t get electrocuted) and we turned the vest on. To my surprise, it was warm. The best part! I didn’t get electrocuted!

So… I thought I would share a review on this strange item and tell you all about it. This is in no way sponsored, just a person telling you about a weird gift that actually turned out to be really nice.

What’s inside?

As you know, it comes looking like a packing cube. When you open up the cube, inside is a vest, a small box, and a bunch of instructions and warnings.

The small box.
Inside the small box.

Inside the small box is the battery to the heated part of the vest, a charging cable, and a usb wall plug.

What’s inside the small box.

You are supposed to charge the battery fully before first use and charge it fully every three months.

There is a pocket inside the vest where the battery goes and a cord that plugs into the battery.

Pocket with cord.

Surprisingly, this vest is actually super warm! It’s even got different temperature settings. (Sometimes I feel like a toaster.)

Button.

The button my thumb is on is the temperature controller. When you push it, the button will turn red and start blinking to let you know it’s preheating. Once heated up it will turn red, which means it’s on higher heat. Press the button again and it turns white for medium heat. One more time and it will turn blue for low heat.

You can also make this vest look, in my grandmother’s words and I quote, “stylish”.
Outfit inspiration.

I hope y’all enjoyed this fun and interesting post!

If you are interested in a heated vest, or coat, I would recommend it, even if I have kinda made fun of it. The vest is super warm for really cold days or days you feel chilly. Hope you found this helpful!

Valentine’s Day.

Since Valentine’s Day was this past week, I thought I would reflect back over on my Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day was on a Friday this year. Friday’s are pretty slow days for me, so… I met one of my long time friends (a girl for those wondering) at Chick-fil-A for a valentines date.

For Valentine’s Day Chick-fil-A will make heart shaped biscuits for breakfast.

(This my not apply to all Chick-fil-A’s)

My favorite meal on the Chick-fil-A menu is a chicken biscuit and hash browns. Unfortunately, they don’t serve the chicken biscuit all day.

After we sat at Chick-fil-A and talked for over 2 hours! I had some things I needed to get done and met up with my Dad to get some paperwork done.

After 4 hours of doing paper work, We headed home and my whole family ate dinner and watched a movie.

My Valentine’s Day was nothing super crazy!!!! And that’s ok.

Thank you for reading this quick story, I hope you enjoyed!

It’s about my Grandmas BIG birthday! If you haven’t read it you will want to read it. (Definitely interesting.)

Feel free to leave a comment down below letting me know what you would like to read next.

Story time, recipe, day in my life, what a wore?

Happy Birthday!

This past week was my grandmas birthday.

We have been planning a few things for her birthday.

One thing that was being planned, was to fly her sister in from Iowa.

The second plan was to have a big birthday party.

Wednesday was her birthday and we had planned a lunch at a local restaurant she likes to eat at.

My grandma was already seated at the table when her sister who lives here in the area walked in. My grandma was so focused on seeing her she didn’t even realize her sister from Iowa was behind her! When my grandma finally realized it was her sister from Iowa, she was so shocked! It was so cute. We then all ate lunch, and caught up!

Meanwhile…my Mom and Aunt were planning a big birthday party at my parents house.

Saturday we had a huge party for her. Over 60 people came!

Saturday morning we got up and cleaned any last minute things. Around 11:00 my aunt came to help prepare for the party.

We had a peg board of cute pictures of her and her family over the years and cards to write something special on and place in a basket as you entered the door.

As you came into the big living room we had tables and chairs set up for people to sit at and talk. On the tables were plants with pictures stuck in them

We then started to prepare food.

We had some delicious snack type foods. We had, Hummus, Carrots, Celery, My aunts Mexican dip, Chicken salad, And a few other items.

Around 2:00 guests started to arrive and we all talked and had a marvelous time! We had my great aunts delicious cake

and opened gifts.

I think a good time was had by all.

Thank you to the ones who helped prepare for the party; and the ones who came.

I would like to share a memory I have with me and my Grandma “Maw”

When I was little, I used to spend the night with her, (sometimes I still do.) I would play dress up with her clothes, heels, and purses. I would love to go to her downstairs and pretend! Sometimes I was a mom cooking, cleaning and caring for my children. Sometimes I was a business women living in my apartment with a cat or dog.

For dinner she would take me to McDonald’s and for breakfast we would have cinnamon rolls.

I love those memories and I’m glad I will always have those to look back on.

Now that I’ve gotten older, I now know my Maw is a very wise, caring, and loving women. She was a great wife and mother.

I hope I can be at least half the women you are someday. I love you Maw!

Hummus recipe

This is in honor of my Aunt who asked for this recipe a few weeks ago.

This is a delicious Hummus recipe (in my opinion) I made this a few years ago for the first time and ever since I’ve been perfecting it.

I have made this hummus for parties, special occasions, snacks, and fast lunch’s.

Hummus is great to dip crackers, toasted bread, veggies, the list goes on!

The best part, it’s pretty cheap to make if you are on a tight budget.

Let’s get started!

What you will need

Can of chick peas or Garbanzo beans.

1/4 tsp Powder garlic.

1/4 tsp Salt.

4 TBS Olive oil.

Food processor.

Lets make it!

Begin by opening the chick peas and draining most of the juice out of the can. Once you have done that, dump the can of chick peas into the food processor and begin adding the olive oil, garlic, and salt. Add more or less garlic or salt to your liking. Now, if you are like my two year old brother and like to mash buttons, you may go ahead and turn on the food processor. WARNING! make sure you put the lid on the processor, or you will have a big mess. Once its blended to your liking, go head and take a taste test to see if you need to add more garlic or salt. For a fancy-ish look, or if you like hotter foods, you can add some cayenne. That’s it! you are done! I hope y’all enjoy this tasty snack or quick lunch as much as I do.
