Weekend retreat.

This past weekend my church went on a weekend retreat.

We left Friday and drove for about 4 hours to where our retreat was going to be held.

The bus ride to our retreat was very nice, full of fun and laughter.

We arrived around 5:30 in time to unload our luggage into our rooms and then head to dinner.

After dinner, we had a session time in a big auditorium. We sang songs, read our bibles, and played games.

After our session was over we headed back to our rooms to get ready for bed. Lights were supposed to be out by 11:30.

The next morning breakfast was at 7:45. We woke up around 6:30 to get ready. Just before we left we opened the door to realize it had snowed! It was beautiful.

Fortunately I had packed clothes appropriate for snow.

When we were heading to breakfast people kept slipping and sliding in the snow/ ice.

Our meals are done in a buffet type style.

For breakfast I got pineapple, bacon, eggs, biscuits, potatoes, water, and my 5 year old self had to get chocolate milk.

From breakfast we went to another session in our big auditorium. We sang songs, read our bibles and played games.

Then it was lunch time, we headed to the cafeteria for lunch.

After our session we had about four hours of free time. At first we walked around the campus, then two of my friends/ roommates and I decided to go to an art session.

We stayed at art for a while, until we met some of our friends at a coffee shop.

We then headed back to our room to get ready for our evening session. We have teams that compete against each other in games which get us points to win a prize at the end of the weekend. I was on the blue team, I wore blue hair ribbons in my hair, blue eyeshadow on my eyes, and blue gems on my face.

Unfortunately, my team didn’t win.

After we got ready we headed to dinner! Then to our session.

(Unfortunately this was the only meal I didn’t get a picture of.)

After our session, we had a silent dance party. Everyone wore headphones that are, I guess connected to blue tooth? So, we all are listening to the same song, but, through headphones. It was cool, and very unique, something I have never done before. At 11:30 the silent dance party ended and we headed back to our rooms to get ready for bed.

Sunday, I woke up around 5:30. I got ready for the day, and then packed my things.

We had to be at breakfast at 7:30.

Once we ate breakfast we headed back to our room for a bit before heading to our last session. Our last session was very good, I learned a lot!

Then it was time to go to our rooms, grab our luggage, and get on the bus guss.

We got about 20 or so minutes down the road when we stoped for lunch. We ate pizza which tasted delicious!

After lunch I took a nap and read a book till we got back into town.

I’m very grateful for this weekend!

It was a lot of fun, learning, and meeting new people.
