This past week was my grandmas birthday.
We have been planning a few things for her birthday.
One thing that was being planned, was to fly her sister in from Iowa.
The second plan was to have a big birthday party.
Wednesday was her birthday and we had planned a lunch at a local restaurant she likes to eat at.
My grandma was already seated at the table when her sister who lives here in the area walked in. My grandma was so focused on seeing her she didn’t even realize her sister from Iowa was behind her! When my grandma finally realized it was her sister from Iowa, she was so shocked! It was so cute. We then all ate lunch, and caught up!
Meanwhile…my Mom and Aunt were planning a big birthday party at my parents house.
Saturday we had a huge party for her. Over 60 people came!
Saturday morning we got up and cleaned any last minute things. Around 11:00 my aunt came to help prepare for the party.
We had a peg board of cute pictures of her and her family over the years and cards to write something special on and place in a basket as you entered the door.

As you came into the big living room we had tables and chairs set up for people to sit at and talk. On the tables were plants with pictures stuck in them

We then started to prepare food.
We had some delicious snack type foods. We had, Hummus, Carrots, Celery, My aunts Mexican dip, Chicken salad, And a few other items.

Around 2:00 guests started to arrive and we all talked and had a marvelous time! We had my great aunts delicious cake

and opened gifts.
I think a good time was had by all.
Thank you to the ones who helped prepare for the party; and the ones who came.

I would like to share a memory I have with me and my Grandma “Maw”
When I was little, I used to spend the night with her, (sometimes I still do.) I would play dress up with her clothes, heels, and purses. I would love to go to her downstairs and pretend! Sometimes I was a mom cooking, cleaning and caring for my children. Sometimes I was a business women living in my apartment with a cat or dog.
For dinner she would take me to McDonald’s and for breakfast we would have cinnamon rolls.
I love those memories and I’m glad I will always have those to look back on.
Now that I’ve gotten older, I now know my Maw is a very wise, caring, and loving women. She was a great wife and mother.
I hope I can be at least half the women you are someday. I love you Maw!
